Community Development is a community based N.G.O that cares for HIV
positive people. The mission of JCD is to diminish the spread of HIV
through education and to provide jobs which will improve general health
and well-being. JCD targets adults and children alike. The goals of
JCD group are to: Increasing HIV prevention knowledge and skills through awareness and campaigns
Improve care, and support people living with HIV/AIDS as well as
orphans and vulnerable children by reducing stigma, providing education
and nutrition. Promote people living with HIV and AIDS involvement and social mobilization and the empowerment of treatment. The Volunteer Owing to the numerous projects running, the volunteers areas of activity are varied. Teaching and working with children Adult education in English, computers, basic business skills Soccer and physical education coaching Raising funds Website Design and maintenance Basic construction and building maintances Assist with community projects that are already existing (gardening, laundry, sewing, child care, soup kitchen, rest house) Initiate and train community members for other projects

We have many incredible activities in our area, such as skydiving, whale watching, bungy and much more...
The minimum stay is 8 weeks and this will include: Dorm accommodation for 56 nights Breakfast Traditional South African dinners Orientation Welcome pack Donation Transport to and from community project Total R20 000.00 pp Accommodation
can be upgraded to a private room at an additional cost. Cancellation
policy is the same as booking policy. Your length of stay can be
extended. Visas and insurance are the responsibility of the volunteer. |
